Steven arranged demo songs for Jim Shankman's SLEEP WITH ME. Here are two versions of The Right Somebody To Love -- one of the two Shirley Temple songs that were recorded by actress Carey Van Driest. The first version takes place towards the beginning of SLEEP WITH ME and the second is a reprise occuring at the very end of the play. Please listen and let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

John Egan just got back from his Silver Seas Cruise. Brandon Cutrell said it was fabulous! They performed at Monte Carlo, Portofino, LIvomo, Saint-Tropez, Palma de Majorca, Valencia and Barcelona. John sang Steven's arrangements of Her Voice (LIttle Mermaid), Somewhere only We Know, The Producers Medley as well as the duet On The Street Where you Live/Almost like Being in Love (from John's cd Count the Stars). The charts were arranged by Steven, Joe Brady, Kerry Meads and Paul Ivory and music direction was by Mark Hartman.

Steven was proud to accompany Annie Edgerton (currently in MAMA MIA) at a benefit for Salons for A Cause at the home of Peter and Lenore Standish. Annie sang songs that from Tony award winning shows or Tony nominated shows.

On May 16, Steven will again serve as Music Director for Jim Shankman's, SLEEP WITH ME.  It is a play with music produced by Emerging Artists Theatre. It is a staged reading with some amazing talent.  Hope you can make it!

Steven is slated to play for Barrow Group's Musical Theater Class starting on Monday April 13th from 11-2 pm.   The 8 week course helps singers tell the story of a song more effectively. Participants perform their songs.  Participants perform different songs each week.  The class is run by co-artistic director of the Barrow Group, Lee Brock.

Tonight marks the 19th year! that  Steven has been the assistant music director of the Inner Circle Show.  (Actually he took off one year when he was the assistant music director of "The Green Heart" at Manhattan Theater Club.!)  Music director Kathy Beaver and choreographer Tony Parisi (of "Camp Broadway") help create arrangements and dances for  well known pop songs and a few theater ditties!.  These songs contain parody lyrics written by reporters and TV news personalities like Gabe Pressman, Melissa Russo, Jim Ryan and Marvin Scott. Steven returns to the Salon (at the Algonquin on 44th Street) tonight. Two of his songs written with special host tonight, Michael Colby, will be presented.  The Towns, which is on Michael Colby's CD, Quel Fromage, will be sung and played by Ben Rauch.  Let Go, from Colby & Silverstein's musical THE HUMAN HEART, will be sung by Gretchen Reinhagen. Her new show "How about them apples," opens this week at Mamas on 46th Street.

Steven's song, "Path You Choose," is being sung by ANOTHER brilliant cabaret performer.!  Sue Matsuki will be singing it as part of the Cabaret Cares benefits Broadway Cares.  The show "Gifts From The Mountain" is based on the writings of author Eileen McDargh.  The show is on 1/12/09 at West Bank Cafe. (For reservations call 212-695-6909).   Gregory  Toroian is the accompanist.
