John Egan so beautifully performed "But For Now." at the Cabaret Cares 3 Benefit concert on 8/18/08 at the Laurie Beechman Theater and was accompanied so brilliantly on the piano with delicate ornamentation by David Shenton. Egan was also a mean emcee!!

Megan Lawrence, currently in HAIR, and most recently in DAMN YANKEES (at City Center) and last year in PAJAMA GAME (with Harry Connick Jr.) is going to be Adelaide in The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's production of Guys And Dolls. Steven recorded with Megan scenes as well as the famous Adelaides Lament at his studio and sent mp3's as her audition to land the part. Brava Megan!

Steven just came back from Birdland where he played for his good friend John Treacy Egan. Steven and John's friend, Christine Pedi was the host. John sang one of his cuts from his CD, COUNT THE STARS (Shall We Dance/I'd Rather Cha Cha Than Eat). Steven left the CD on the piano, but as was leaving, he handed it to Celeste Holm, who happened to be in the audience! A new friend! LOL!

Steven had the pleasure of working with Broadway Today last night. He performed with Craig Shulman, founder as well as Tamra Hayden, Colleen Hawks, Becky Baxter-Foard and Phil Hernandez with Brian Hamm on Bass and Gary Seligson on Drums. They performed Broadway standards like "Music of the Night," from Phantom and "The Impossible Dream," from Man of La Mancha. Steven was the emcee and music director at the Lawrence Hall in LI.

Steven is proud to announce that he will be contributing music to Blake Hackler's musical The Boss in the Satin Kimono, which has been accepted into the 2008 Fringe Festival. The Boss in the Satin Kimono has music by Paul Ford and book and lyrics by Blake Hackler. Check for future updates on the show and the Fringe! Steven is the assistant music director for Hot N Cole which is being premeired at Westport Country Playhouse. The show is directed by James Naughton with choreography by Lisa Shriver. Mark Berman is the music director. The cast includes Whitney Bashor, Andrea, Dora, Donna Lynne Champlin, Shonn Wiley, Lewis Cleale and Peter Reardon. The show runs from June 14- June 28th. Steven had the pleasure of playing piano (Roland JV 90) for his good friend Kathy Fitzgerald last night at the Midtown West's 2000 Live Auction Party. Midtown West is Kathy's daughter's (Hope) school on W. 48th Street. The event was held at the Phonak Gallery 413-415 14th St. Kathy and Steven performed Cabaret, That Old Black Magic (Kathy's own arrangement), Sunday, Monday or Always, The World Goes Round and Ring Them Bells. Kathy will be featured the upcoming musical version of Dolly Parton's hit movie Nine To Five.

Last night, Steven had the privilege of playing for John Treacy Egan for the St. Georges Society at the National Arts Club on Gramery Park South. John sang selections from his CD including his infamous Producers Medley. The MC for the event was legendary Jim Dale ("Barnum," "Candide", "3 Penny Opera"), who shared some wonderful anecdotes and funny stories. Pictures were taken by John Shannon remember of the Society. Last minute! Steven was fortunate enough to play piano for John Treacy Egan at The Little Mermaid benefit at Westbank Theater on 42nd street. John performed UNREQUITED LOVERS MARCH from his Cd COUNT THE STARS.
Jordan Hamessley will be performing an original tune of Steven's with lyrics by Richard Mancini, Nancy Barrett, Steven Silverstein & Madelyn Barbero. The song is called ONCE AGAIN. It will part of the grand reopening of the SALON at 59 w. 44th Street.

Steven is the assistant music director for the 86th annual Inner Circle at the New York Hilton. This year is especially exciting with the major changes in the political arena this week -- e.g. GOVERNOR SPITZER. Steven's friends Pam Brown and Greg Tully were at the dress rehearsal. Steven has been the assistant music director of the Inner Circle since 1990.

Sleep With Me is a black comedy with music set in Hollywood in 1938, the story of a teen age girl’s sexual awakening in the predatory world of 1930’s Hollywood, with songs ripped out of Shirley Temple’s movies and surgically crafted into the corrupt adult environment of the movies.
