In the Fall of 2002, radio station WAMH, 89.3 FM in Amherst Massachusetts played 6 of Steven's songs from his demo ALL MUSIC BY STEVEN SILVERSTEIN during it's show called "RANDOM" on Mondays from 8-10 PM. The program invited listener's to call in and comment. Here is some some of the comments:



Who Needs Romance?:

  • "who needs romance? More like a perfect song for romance!"
  • "my husband and I got up and started dancing to [Silverstein's] hopping music and melody!"
  • "a great combination of sultry piano, sultry vocalist, and great lyrics."


    Notice Me:

  • "in terms of the music, [Silverstein] tickles the ivories with great feeling on this one"
  • "the piano is begging the melody along"


    Pictures I Draw:

  • "a song of personal growth"
  • "the piano and the rhythm stir and sway the listeners forward, with the song"
  • "a very difficult song, but the middle bridge is fantastic!"

    The Dance:

  • "reminds me of a Cole Porter sort, as the music spins around the voice"
  • "the piano spirals higher and higher, making the listener pulse forward and back with the plaintive song"


    The Path I Choose:

  • "this is the kind of song I'd play for my child"

  • "I liked the way the music climbed, and stepped forward, much like the path would have been for the singer."
  • "[Silverstein's] music has a great direction, a real point, to it."


    Strong Wind:

  • "I remember the first song to Joseph, and this reminds me of that sort of explaining, sage-like mood"
