“…elegantly rendered mixture of influences…Ani DiFranco, Patty Griffin, Jonatha Brooke, Rilo Kiley, Ben Folds, Tori Amos and the Indigo Girls. There are others in the mash-up, but were I to list them there would not be room here to mention.” –LCT.ORG

"[LPFunK] is the ring leader of the music scene in the West Village," -Permission Radio

“A shot back to the days of jazz and lounge with a modern kick. It’s as if Rufus Wainwright ate the Eels and took over Elvis Costello’s recording session…” – Chicago Flame

Becca Ayers is currently in the original cast of the first revival of “South Pacific” at Lincoln Center.  She was also understudied Madame Thenardeir in “Les Miserables” and Kate/Lucy, Mrs. T/Bear in “Avenue Q” on Broadway.  She was the title role in “Sarah, Plain and Tall” Off-Broadway and understudied Lucy in the tour of “Jekyll and Hyde”. Becca also recently wrapped the film “Clear Blue Tuesday” which is now in post-production.  It is a musical with 11 singer/songwriter/actors who created their own characters and wrote their own songs.  Her song “Taste” was used for the pilot “Temps” which was an official selection for the New York Television Festival in 2006.  She is working on solo material as well as songs with band partners Bradley Dean Whyte (myspace.com/ayerswhyte) and Russ Rowland (myspace.com/babygoesbang).  Becca and Russ are anticipating completion of their Baby Goes Bang cd.  Listen to her latest releases at www.myspace.com/beccaayers.

LPfunK (Lucas Papaelias) is a singer/songwriter-slash-lead guitarist-slash-professional actor from New York City. He plays acoustic funk, dirty pop, blues, and classic rock-style lead guitar in various musical endeavors while supporting himself through theatrical, television, and film roles. Credits include 1 Broadway, 8 Off-Broadway & 4 Regional plays; dead-beat stoner/slacker roles on 3 different Law & Orders; stints in several Sundance award-winning indie films ("What Alice Found", "Brother To Brother"); and the role of Neil the bass player alongside Jack Black in the Richard Linklater film "School of Rock". Former frontman of the lower-east-side rock band Cool Hand, he's performed at various clubs throughout NYC, including Mercury Lounge, CBGB's, Arlene's Grocery, and Luna Lounge. He also founded the weekly acoustic night at Jack's Coffee Shop, an intimate, unplugged setting in the WestVillage. His music can be heard on the soundtracks for several indie films, and he composed music & arranged guitar parts for several theatre pieces in which he also acted in, including Cyrano de Bergerac, directed by David Leveaux and starring Kevin Kline & Jennifer Garner; Adam Rapp's Essential Self-Defense at Playwrights Horizons (2007 Drama Desk nom.--best music in a play); and Walk Two Moons at the Lucille Lortel. Check out www.lpfunkrocks.com.

Rob Kendt’s day job has been as a theater critic for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Variety, Back Stage West, and Broadway.com. That may be why Rob Kendt’s music, even at its most cooking, has a narrative and theatrical sensibility that has earned him comparisons to Elvis Costello, Rufus Wainwright, and Randy Newman. As an L.A.-based solo artist, he played at The Mint (opening for Louise Goffin and Brother), Fais Do-Do, Les Freres Taix, and Highland Grounds. Since relocating to Brooklyn he’s played the Zipper Theatre, Pete’s Candy Store, Bar Nine, Night & Day, and Birdland. He’s also had a thriving side career composing and performing music for theater at such venues as the Evidence Room, The Mark Taper Forum, Pacific Resident Theatre, The Globe Theatre, and the Metropolitan Playhouse. His new record, I’m Not Sentimental was produced by drummer extraordinaire Matt North (Hail the Size, Andy Prieboy, Mink Stole) and mastered by Mike Hagler (Wilco, The New Pornographers, Neko Case), is eclectic in scope but consistent in its production sound and authorial voice. Like an anthology of short stories, Rob Kendt’s new record reads as well as it rocks. Time Out New York gave his new album Critic’s Pick and said, “His new CD… showcases his agile lyrics, deceptively simple tunes and appealing, laid-back baritone.” Make sure to take listen to tracks from his recent release at www.robkendt.com.

After the show, make sure you stick around for NYC's finest Ska DJs, Double Barrel Sound System. Tommy Bomb & Raul The Hooligan formed the Double Barrel Sound System in 2005 to spin the classic Anglo-Jamaican thug sounds: reggae, rocksteady, ska, soul, mod, Oi! and punk, with an emphasis on the boss tunes circa '69. So get your moon stompin' boots on and skank into the night with Double Barrel Sound Sytem. Double Barrel Sound System

THE 7-YEAR B*TCH

*an anniversary concert of two never-was has-beens

Fresh off their triumphant NYMF run of LIKE YOU LIKE IT, Dan Acquisto and Sammy Buck bring you an evening of...

Hold on.  FRESH?  LIKE YOU LIKE IT was three years ago.

Okay, strike that.

Dan Acquisto and Sammy Buck, everyone's favorite second choice for Broadway, off-Broadway, film and TV jobs, show you what it's like to persevere, with songs ranging from wickedly funny to bitterly heartfelt.  And if you did see LIKE YOU LIKE IT, you can find out what happened to it  and even hear some cut songs.  Other tunes about misadventures in love and  work, and never winning a certain performing arts foundation grant each year, will make you feel much better about your life.
